About Kakra Hughes
Dr. Hughes is a Tenured Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Howard University and Hospital. Following his Vascular Surgery training at the Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he completed an additional year of Endovascular Surgery training at the Arizona Heart Institute. Along with his clinical practice, he is a prolific researcher and holds a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research from Georgetown University and a PhD in Health Services Research from the University of Maryland at College Park. Dr. Hughes currently serves as assistant editor for the Journal of Vascular Surgery (the leading Vascular Surgery journal), associate editor for Annals of Vascular Surgery and previously served as a section editor for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery..
